The majority of sporting venues and stadia across the UK are continuously announcing that they are to become cashless venues, as a result, it was important to reach out to the charities that utilise these venues to understand how we could ensure that their fundraising activities can continue, unhindered by these changes.
Palace for Life Foundation, the charitable entity associated with Crystal Palace Football Club, were one of the first such organisations we approached to discuss the idea of going contactless to assist with their fundraising efforts.
Bobby outlined very early on in our discussions that they would have need of both attended, hand held devices for face-to-face interaction with supporters, as well as an unattended solution to be used in corporate/hospitality areas that would enable supporters in attendance to simply tap to donate towards their upcoming Made in South London campaign.
We were approached by Daniel at Paya at a time when we were looking to expand our in-person fundraising activity through our Made in South London campaign, and their flexibility & quick turnaround on set-up allowed us to trial the A920 devices for the last month of the 2021/22 season. The trial was hugely successful, backed up by the donation reports that Paya provide, making it a no-brainer to hire the devices for the full 2022/23 season.
The A920 devices have allowed us to receive a large amount of donations that we wouldn’t have without them, as well as also allowing us to increase the awareness of our work. Daniel and his team have been a pleasure to work with, both in their professional service and personal touch.
We were able to provide Palace for Life Foundation with the best solutions for their requirements in both the Payter P66/Armour unit combination for safe, secure unattended fundraising, as well as our PAX A920 devices with our DonationsApp functionality for quick and easy face-to-face contactless donations.
Set-up was quick and easy as we were able to link the devices to Palace for Life Foundation's existing JustGiving page meaning no long lists of documentation to provide and weeks of waiting, just a simple 5 minute online application form.
Since the first trial we have been able to support Palace for Life Foundation for the full duration of the 2022/23 season as well as providing a short term option to allow them to increase the number of devices they have available for specific events such as their recent Stadium Takeover event to raise awareness of their Made in South London Campaign.
